In no real order...
On the Bridal Shower Invitation to my Cousins wedding it said "Green Makes the Best Gifts". I knew that meant that they preferred to receive money as a gift. But me being me, I decided I had to just send along some green gifts. Included were green garbage bags, a frog that holds your sponges, Swiffer pads, a can of Lysol that was green and a few other things. But I didn't want to not give them money, since that is what they really wanted and needed, so I decided to decorate the basket with cash made into flowers. Between the outside decor and inside the basket itself we included 50.00 in cash. But we did make them work for it. :)
For my wedding, a very good friend of mine named MaryFrances made me a beautiful wishing well. I loved it, and it earned her the nickname "Crafty Betty".
So when one of my Best Friends got married, I decided I would make one for her. When you look at it, it kind of looks easy, and I promise you, for me, it was not! I think this took me a few weeks to make. Lots of hot glue... TONS of lace and ribbons. No instructions on how to decorate, so I had to wing it. My friend Karen (who I made it for) loved it... so I was happy!
In Christmas of 2010, neither my friends or I had any money to really exchange gifts. So we decided we would make each other presents from stuff we already had on hand. Well I went through a phase where I would buy fabric that I liked on a regular basis. So I decided to make my friend an apron. She likes to wear aprons when she cooks so why not? I can honestly say I was very proud of this result because it was all made freestyle. No pattern at all just cut and sew and stitch etc. I will admit the length ended up being a little too long, but truly I was very proud of this one.
Also this very same Christmas, I made then a "Couch Cozy" which ended up being used on her Mother's walker. It was ok... I didn't love it, and I also did this one freestyle, no pattern, and it took me forever to figure out what I was doing. But it was good enough to give as a gift and they seemed to like it.

These are a few things I made during my Clay phase. I had looked at many tutorials on the web for ideas. The problem is, I find it hard to read and do. So I end up getting a basic idea and just trying to do it myself. Sometimes it works... sometimes not so well. The Teddy is cute, but the body... BAD! LOL
I made the Santa as a gift for a friend. Aside from the fact that the beard and hat trim are not white, I think I did a great job on this one. I also liked to make Roses. I ended up making a lot of roses and turned them into magnets. I do not miss clay.
